Italy Prevention Drive: 300 Volunteers, 500,000 “Truth About Drugs” Booklets Distributed

MILAN, Italy — 12 February 2026 — Around 300 volunteers have been active since January in multiple Italian cities for a drug-prevention awareness initiative, distributing prevention materials titled “The Truth About Drugs” booklets. According to organisers that over 500,000 copies have already been handed out, starting in Milan and expanding to additional cities.

Support for the outreach is provided by the European Office of the Church of Scientology in the context of its support for prevention and youth safeguarding work inspired by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. The materials aim to provide clear, accessible information about commonly abused substances and their risks.

Athlete engagement is also cited by organisers. They say 100+ athletes associated with Milano Cortina 2026 have added their names to the Foundation for a Drug-Free World Honorary Register, signalling support for youth-focused prevention messaging. Organisers argue, sport offers a credible setting for prevention messaging because it is associated with health, news eu ai act focus and long-term wellbeing.

Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, stated: “Across Europe, protecting young people is not only a health objective but a civic duty. Providing verified, understandable information strengthens autonomy and informed choice, and it helps communities push back against exploitation linked to drug markets.”
